Houston Zoo

World famous featuring 55 acres of a tropical landscape and home to over 4500 exotic animals. All located within Hermann Park and walking distance from your front door.


Miller Outdoor Theatre

This remarkable facility with its free high-quality programs is unique in the US. It is the only proscenium theatre in the country that offers an artistically excellent, culturally diverse eight month season of performances totally free of charge to the public. Pack a picnic and grab a bottle of wine and enjoy the show!


Buffalo Bayou Park

Just 3 miles away offering an array of outdoor fun. Kayaking, canoeing, boating launch, hiking, biking or just a pleasant stoll on the miles of nature trails or yours to enjoy.


Coming Soon (and just a walk away!!) The long awaited Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion will be debuting November 2014.

Designed by Hoerr Schaudt with White Oak Studio consulting, is the Conservancy’s largest improvement project ever undertaken and will completely transform the existing 15-acre Garden Center site into a spectacular new attraction for Park visitors. The Gardens will feature a family garden, great lawn, 30′ garden mount, celebration garden, rose garden, and the Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion, designed by architect Peter Bohlin of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. This family-friendly opening day celebration will include art projects sponsored by Macy’s, Inc., music, food, performances and more. Free and open to the public.
